Sorry to hear that Tank. That is why we have the 1-800 number for Chicago in the DRG and it is also in the Motor Carrier Atlas. If you don't have directions for Chicago that is who you call... Good luck with Roehl.

I saw so many bridges in the area labeled, but for some reason this one wasn't. It just boggles my mind on why this one didn't have anything.
And to add insult to injury, I was suppose to pick up a relay here in Gary. Preplan said 0600, when I got the load assignment it said 0800, but I didn't get load assignment until near 1930. Driver came out of Canada. Was told at 0700 that driver was 350 miles out. at 1600, driver was 120 miles out. 3 and 1/2 hours to do 120 miles? WTF? My total day was wasted and I was up at 0530 because they said he would be here. So off to bed now after a wasted day in Gary! Worst part, company car is out of commission again so I couldn't even run to buy some supplies I need. -
Uh, since many of us are in the area often, I'm concerned as to where the bridge was. which begets the question of what route did you end up taking? Did you take 35th from 94 over to California? I know if you went up to 55 and went to California, you would have been suprised by the lack of an exit, (you have to use Kedzie and California, as some unholy u-turn combo, but that's really something that reasonable people shouldn't have to know) -
And, You had an adventure! Freight still got delivered? Hopefully not damaged? you had two containers, the one on the front made it under the bridge, but the rear one didn't? and they were the same size? Well, that's just magic. We generally don't scream too much about magic.

I had looked at Google maps before planning the route. Noticed there was no exit for California off of I-55 so I looked at what Google directed me. The route looked safe and easy. In hindsight, the "unholy u-turn combo" would have worked, but I just didn't think to do it. Roehl philosophy about taking shortest route between two points clouded my judgement. Oh and as a side note, the bridge crossing California after 35th is a 13'0" bridge. And its properly marked. -
Again hindsight, if I would have dumped the air from my suspension, I would have made it through. That's how much I hit it by, just barely. Funny thing, Qualcomm didn't even register a critical event. I slammed the brakes too. Just shows you how slow I was going. -
Been bouncing around the great white north the last few days. Unloaded in Rice, MN on Monday. Loaded some steel in Plymouth, MN and delivered in Prentice, WI on Tuesday. Now another short haul, picked up in Minoqua, Wi to deliver in Oshkosh. The load is small to say the least. 2300 lbs of steel. 40 ft of open trailer. The guy pulled up to load it and I said, how much more? He said this is it. I said You're kidding me right?
So this one is now the smallest load I have ever moved.
Stopped in Neenah for the night. Took my frozen steel tarps off the trailer and my truck and went through the wash bay. Washed and sprayed the truck. Thawed and re-rolled the tarps. Everything fits back in their proper place, or until I have to use them again in the freezing cold #### weather. -
