The last couple of weeks have been very good for me. Staying busy, getting longer trips and good miles - back and forth between WI/MI area and TX a couple of times. The substitute FM (H.) did a great job for me. My regular FM (S.J. - you and I have the same one it seems) got back today. At least he is getting me home as promised. I'll be off for a while (9-10 days) so we'll see how it goes on the other side of that.

OH, what a couple of days... Had truck fixed on friday. Got a load to MN. OOPS, the planner doesn't have anything for me if I head that way. Stand in Marshfield office as they go back and forth. Next thing I know, I am to take the load 22 miles to relay it with a driver who needs to get home, in MN, so they can induce his wife into labor. Well, I guess that's more important.
Head back to Marshfield and wait another hour, load out of Schofield to Durham, NC. Man that would have been a great weekend run, except I have to relay it to Gary so another driver can run with it home. UGH! Then I get a load to a construction site in Wilson, WI, exit 28. Nice run to make up, but still a weak weekend.
From there off to Phillips, WI, 156 miles from where I am. Wouldn't going to Minneapolis and picking up a load from there have been cheaper? Just saying...
Drop this morning in University Park, IL south of Chicago at 0900 as scheduled and after sitting for 2 hours waiting for an unload. Back to Gary to get a relay and off to OHIO! Good miles now and another construction load that has to be delivered at 0700.
Now the fun, so I stop at a service area to see where I am gong to be able to spend the night. The consignee is a construction area with no parking and is just south of Cleveland. No good place close to stop. So as I sit there planning I get a message, relay load with another driver in Ohio.WTF?
Apparently, my preplan for tomorrow requires I have a flat. I have a step. So I meet up with another driver to swap loads. I deliver his 11 miles from where we met and he heads the remaining 150 miles to deliver my load. So in the end, I just lost nearly 300 miles round trip because of the load needing a flat! At least it heads me home....
Now here is the kicker... The preplan he has, would have directed him to WI. He could have picked up my preplan and I could have picked up his preplan. From there we could have met in Gary to relay and take the loads in the right direction, but hey what do I know! -
Oh, and as we were swapping out equipment, I missed my box and my foot went between the box and fender. Got a BIG red spot on my leg now where I "sat" down on the box in a rapid and forceful manner! OUCH!
