Advice about a broker reimbursment promise and not paying it.

How ? If i bought the air tank after they said it would be reimberssed. Didnt get reimbursed, im taking it with me. Since i was the one that bought it. They are the ones that are causing the problems so they will deal with the problems they have caused. I wouldve kept the old air tank tho just for a situation like this. What do u think a mechanic does when u dont pay ur bill? They taking their parts back off your truck.

 

Because he was the last person to have the trailer and is now dropping it off missing a tank. Come on, it's obvious how this can make his situation worse.

 

I will no longer pull anything for IEL. It was
only for a trailer move. I used other brokers for freight. I think I might do a small claims. It might be petty but I have nothing to lose. Besides the $570.

 

Thats what happens when you dont pay your bills! They shouldve paid the man... Cmon thats pretty obvious here driver... They have no pull in any direction in this fight... If it is in writing that the man would be reimbursed and that never happened. My new parts are coming off of their trailer... They can take it to court thats great! They will not win that fight... Pay your bills or dont thats their choice but theres consequences that come with it...i cant believe anybody would take the side of a deadbeat

 

You're dead wrong if you think anyone here is taking the side of the broker. I can't speak for him but I doubt he is trying to turn this into a drawn out crusade. By taking the air tank off he only adds to his potential losses. I think the best advice I've seen for him is to file in small claims which will get the attention of the higher ups.
As a side note I think I'm going to be avoiding them myself in the future.

Have you contacted anyone with dart?
I would see how far you can get with them, then I would check state laws and try to place a mechanics lien.

 

If I were you I would invoice them and make sure to bill them for whatever it was you paid out. Then wait for your payment. If it's not received on or before your agreed terms then file a claim on thier bond. If that doesn't work take them to small claims court. Hopefully you didn't agree to handling legal issues in their state of choice instead of yours in the Agreement.

 

What was the reasoning the broker gave for not paying you? If it's broken logic and/or you are genuinely being treated unfairly, you can probably appeal to someone higher up in the origination and get compensated. I've had carriers reach out to me before explaining someone on my team promised one thing and did another, and provided there weren't any extenuating circumstances we pay the carrier an move on.

I did a quick google search and found out who their entire leadership team is. I would start with their Director of Operations, his email is probably formatted the same way your contact's email is formatted, so you can probably figure out his email and send him a professional email asking for fair resolution.
