Doc, thankyou! This is the kind of post(and the others like it) that I need to help me make this job work. I am leaving a trade that I have had for 25 years and have been looking for the truths needed to arm myself for success in this business. I knew before I found this site that this would be a hard job and this and other's post's have affirmed that belief. I take heart from your words that this industry will be rewarding if I am willing to put thought, effort, and passion into all that I do. Please, Keep up these post's( you and other's, you know who you are ) as my familys future is going to be invested pretty heavily in all that I learn.
    Thankyou!
    Brian

    Doc,

I truly appreciate you taking the time to write these wonderful words of wisdom. I am new to the forum and so far this has been the most helpful information not just for truckers but for average joe's like myself. Most of it is common sense, but it is amazing how many people don't know how to get past themselves.

    Thanks again,

I've been reading this forum for months, and trying to get all the info I can, based on reading other's questions, and then the following answers. I'm really glad I finally ran across this thread. You've given a LOT of excellent info, and it helps to keep one grounded.

I appreciate your time and advice!

    Be well!

When I wrote these entries on this thread, I was hoping that maybe just one person would be able to take something from it, I am glad to be able to help many others make the most out of trucking as it is a lifestyle.

Lady that is funny as red ink makes you frisky, nothing does it for me more than a set of 8 inch straights coming off a 425 cat, rolling smoke out he pipes. Days of old gone by.

    Hello Doc,
I just wanted to say hello and thank you for the posts you made. Very good stuff. I am new to this life, still looking for my first truck, but not new to life. I also am from VA. Grew up in Falls Church many years ago. I remember when Tysons Corner was a cattle and horse farm. If you have been there you will understand. I still have my'82 XLH. It needs a full rebuild. Anyway, I just want to say thank you. Have a great one.
