    Hey all,

I drove for Werner from June to October of last year(including training). I've been out of trucking since but I'm now interested in going back(not necessarily with Werner). Would the trucking companies expect me to go back to school for a refresher course, or do you think they would hire me right away, and maybe send me out for some extra training? Could anyone suggest a company to apply to, given my situation?

    Thanks.

I suggest you speak with a few recruiters. They could help you more than most here.

Just a quick guess, I would think you may have to do the whole "ride with a trainer" deal again. But I'm not sure on that.

I am in the same boat. I graduated TD_school in May and then started an office job in Auq. I drove for one month hauling rock. Had to leave due to moms death. I hope to start with a company in Jan. Will re-training be required?

I believe that any company that would hire you will insist that you ride with a trainer for a while to make sure that you know the basics. I don't think that you will need to go back to school unless you no longer have your CDL.
