Ive been working as an oiler in the construction feild for the last 3 years.
I was driving a fuel truck for heavey equipment.
I cant seem to find any oiler jobs right now and may want to switch careers.I was looking for a regional or over the road job.
So far from what I've seen the jobs seem to start out at $300 to $400 a week. This seems a little low.
Does any one have any job tips or leads in the Reno nevada area.
Do I just have to take it in the rump and go with swift, central,cr englund.
Any advice would be very appreciated

What kinda reference do you have covering that 3 yrs ?
Do you have Class A CDLX ?
All you need is someone that can answer the phone and will verify your employment, sign and return the work verification form.
Your work history description should note running
all connective States in your area. Anything over 4 is considered OTR.
Try for a Team Operation to get some "real" road experience under your belt, then never look back. -
I have a class a cdl.with a t-doubles and triples.and a x-hazmat and tankers. The expeirience I have that can be verified consist of 3 years as a luber. The trucks were tanker trucks. We hauled about 2000 gallons fuel and all needed fluids. I have no expeirience with trailors even thought I have the endorsments.

we only ran in nevada and sometimes to lake tahoe california

From looking at some of the other post I'm almost starting at the bottom.

Read between the lines fella, you just need to be creative
with your application
Many oilfield drivers over the years have gone OTR
without actual OTR experience. They are some of the best in the business when it comes to trucks. -
You are starting at the bottom when it comes to tankers. Just about all your companies require experience with a trailer. Your experience with handling fuel is not the same since the only time we do any type of that work is when we refuel the truck. But not all is lost and you did haul 2000 gallons around.
You can go over to where all the tankers load and see who might be hiring. I don't know exactly where the pipeline is but you can find it by looking for the large aboveground white tanks. I'd start by looking close to the air port. There's only one place where everyone loads in Sparks. Talk with the drivers, ask about Frederickson tank lines or ask who's hiring with your limited experience. I've seen guys like you come out of the oil fields and put on tankers so you might have a shot. You've just have to go over there and find out for yourself. Be careful and sign in when they make you. Be honest and tell them why you're there. You'll find out it's a very close community and everyone knows each other. Be polite, dress clean, look sharp, and good luck. Let me know how it goes please. -
I was over to the union hall and the rep said any day now we start working.
I don't get it! They doing road work all over town.
I should have been called by now.I didn't relize untill today but they working on the roads almost everywhere.I should be working.companies are just not hiring and running short staffed is all I can figuire.Granite has a lot of work and I expected them to be hireing but so far they have only just brought a few guys back that they laid off for the winter.
Someone has to put fuel in the equipment. And change the oil and grease it
I've been looking in the paper and they had jobs last year for oilers.I would have tried to get on at one of those propane places but those jobs didn't come up this year.puting propane into tanks is real close to putting fuel in heavy equipment i would think -
Just hang in there.
