Reading your post, the policeman was showing. Very good writeup, concise and detailed.
Good job you did on that.

I am disappointed to learn of the progressively more difficult bars for trainees to use a new word upgrade to solo.

If a trainee is doing well and there isnt really anything left for the trainer to teach, let that trainee get own truck and go already.

If it is anything good I will say it's this. I give thanks to God that we are America. So big and everything in which we are blessed with across the board.

Enterprise will pick you up, but they do not have great hours. Most close early on Sat and are closed on Sun unless you’re close to an airport.

I doubt if the OP will need a third mentor. He sounds like he's making the right decisions and keeping his cool.
25 years as a LEO will help him deal with situations like the one he described. It's too bad he had to deal with it in the first place.
If his first mentor was typical of Swift's training process I feel sorry for everyone involved.

His first mentor sounds pretty awful. If that guys get 2-3 trainees complain about him, he won’t be a mentor anymore.

I am sure he will be fine with his 2nd mentor. Just get that signature on the upgrade paper and that’s it.

There's probably a couple dozen former LE , in some capacity or another, that post on here. Trucking seems to be a good fit for retired law enforcement officers, prison guards, etc Trucking is a piece of cake for them.

The OP sounds like an intelligent guy. I've learned that the time and effort at the front of this career to find a good company is worth everything. I could see a mega for a young guy, but for this gentleman, why?

In the thread with the Big Patti incident, the guy fell apart in 15 minutes. This OP went 3 days with a Little Big Man and didn’t come unglued. One had a brain freeze going forward and the other kept his calm BACKING. This is the mental toughness that you want to see.

Things go wrong every single day. Even so, you don’t allow anyone or anything to get you out of your game plan.

“But Six, he’s a 25 year lawman. You can’t expect others to be like him.”

The toughness was there before the law enforcement started. The coolness came as he aged. Toughness is what you want to see out of someone young. The coolness comes later.

You should have put your phone on record and recorded his antics. And to think idiots like this are “training” the next generation of drivers.

OP, your trainer is a whack job. Isn't there some sort of evaluation before making these guys trainers? I don't understand how it's an act of Congress to even get a job as a trucker, but they let anyone train
