Im not sure what topic this belongs in but hopefully I can get an answer here. First of all, I absolutely HATE trucking but it is the easiest job to get without having a college degree. Simple, go give a CDL school 4000 dollars and a month later u have a CDL and can get a job driving (If you are lucky making 50-60K a year starting out.) I am looking for a job running auto parts and I have tried Martin and Rush so far. Neither will hire me as I have a "major" moving violation on that stupid psp report that wont be 3 years old until april 2015. That being said, I have been approved at many companies (Tango, PTL, Celadon, Heartland express, Covenant, Werner, Quest, Conway). I am going to end up going to tango IF I cant find a company that will hire me running auto parts as I absolutely LOVED it when I ran for super service doing the dedicated Toyota account out of San Antonio, however, I couldn't handle running team anymore and that is all they did so im looking for a solo position now. Carter express recruiting will never answer the phone and they r my last company that I know of that does auto parts to give a try.

If I cant do auto parts then I want a company with a high percentage of drop and hook and must be dry van (I didn't do quest because of team only and reefer). I have 17 months experience dating back to August 2011 and I have a lot of unemployment time as well because I don't put up with bs. I would still be with super service if I could've done the auto parts solo but the general freight didn't seem to interest me so I quit. I will quit a company in a heart beat if they tell me 1 thing and it turns out to be something else or I get screwed around in any way. I have no bills besides a cell phone so I wont put up with garbage from anyone as I hate trucking already.

So now that u have read through all of that "elementary writing" as I am a truck driver, the basic questions I have are:
    1. What companies have dedicated auto parts runs besides Super Service (team), Martin, Rush, and Carter express? I have 2 addresses I can use to be hired (Waco, Tx) (Knoxville, TN)
    2. If no insight to above question, What is a good company that has a high percentage of drop and hook dry van freight or over 1000 mile length of haul loads?

Sounds like its not SO EASY to get a job in the field that you HATE as you implied at the start of your post . Your MAJOR MOVING VIOLATION is going to hamper you with a lot of companies as their insurance provider wants drivers with clean records.

First off if you hate trucking as you say you do then why do it ???
Life is way to short to do something you hate.

If you continue the way you are with the attitude you have you wont be in trucking long anyway.
Not judging just putting the truth out there what you do with it is up to you .
Job hopping and bad attitude will put you out of the industry it is just a matter of time .

All of that being said why don't you take a chance and go do what it is that makes you happy ?
It sounds like now would be the time to start a job that would make you happy while you don't have a bunch of debt that will force you to work a job you hate !!!

As for the dream drop and hook no bull job....... well that is the dream that everyone is dreaming.
But alas it like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow it is not real !!
The cold hard truth is if it is trucking is going to have BS.
If you want everything to be perfect and the same hours every day then you need to punch a clock at the factory or sit in a cubical .
That is just the way it is in trucking no BS no trucking .

These people that get into trucking just for a "job" and then have all kinds of unrealistic expectations are not improving the industry, just dragging it down.

You're in the wrong industry. I mean you said you hate it? But whatever at the rate you're going you wont be doing it long at all. My advice is good luck, get your crash helmet on.

I do it because im to lazy to go apply at a "real" job and go dress up for an interview and all of that trash. I can call a trucking company, put in an application and within hours or atleast the next morning I get an answer. If I can go to orientation then I go and wear what I want and I still get a job where I can work 3 or 4 months and take a year off and then do it again the next time UNLESS I find what I am looking for. I should've said "not all trucking jobs suck". Like I stated, I loved super service dedicated Toyota account but couldn't stand team and I also loved a lease purchase job I had where it was all Terminal to terminal, no touch freight, no forced dispatch, run how hard or how little I wanted to and never a word said, take 2 weeks off if I wanted to. As "FLATBED" said though I don't have a lot of options right now. I am trying to find something I want to do but apparently truck drivers r to "slow" to get it. I am asking for advice on companies that I could work for so I could enjoy what I do because I have done it b4 so I know the jobs r there so don't tell me "dream this and dream that". You are just showing your ignorance.

"unrealistic expectations" LMAO, It isn't unreal IF I HAVE DONE IT B4. The companies I am looking for are out there. Martin is a perfect example. I know 2 drivers that work for them. Spring hill, TN to Grand Prairie, Tx Round trip back to back to back. 34 hour restart at home. Just because u have never had a job like im looking for doesn't mean u have to dream to get them because I would have Martin if I had a clean record and all I would've had to do is pick up the phone and the next day I would get a call to schedule orientation so keep doing what u enjoy as I try to find something that I enjoy!

You might think of checkin your Attitude at the door(so to speak)--because if you come across on the phone w/a potential employer only half as bad as you do anonymously on here--I'm surprised if anyone talks to you at all.....
