just got asked by my boss to pull doubles for the company just looking for any advice or pointers and things to look out for thanks

yes i have my license ill be pullin 2 28 foot pup trailers with single axle tractor

Dont worry about all the wiggling you will see in the mirrors, its normal. LOL You will also need to be LCV (long combination vehicle) trained and certified by your employer along with your doubles/triples endorsement if you have never pulled them before.

ok thanks yeah i just hear a lot about them being dangerous and reading the book when i took the test was making me think about it a lot but im not to worried about the length ive driven 48 footers before 12 foot wide loads i know its not as long as doubles and it will take some getting used to but i think i start training in about 2 weeks so ill see how i do then thanks for the advice anything is good when your a rookie at something

I have pulled A train 40ft/ 20ft sets, Super B train 32 ft/ 28ft sets and the same 28 ft doubles (as you listed) with a dolly. The 28 ft sets are more wiggly than the others and all the sets prove to be a helluva challenge in the ice/snow. It will be weird at first when you start pulling them then it becomes like second nature. It took me a good 6 mos to really learn how and be decent at it with the doubles. A year pretty steady with the Super B train and I could back it up pretty much anywhere you wanted. One thing to be on the lookout for is where to park.

ok great yeah im hoping not to hit any snow or ice this year seems how i am learning in the winter, but it will deffinately take me awhile to learn the ins and outs of everything but i do like the challenge

going forward double 28s are very easy to pull, the second trailer follows the first, so you can take turns easier then with a 53, its a little bit harder to go backwards though -
So basically, you need LCV cert for rocky sets or triples, but not double pups... that is my understanding.
