I got pulled over by a IL. By a state trooper and had a box of wine on my truck. The trooper didn't pull me over for a driving violation other than he said he saw me with a pen writing in my hand but it was a cigarette and he kept insisting it was a ink pen. my logs were perfect but told me they were going to search my truck. I should have resisted but didn't and told him at that point I had a box of wine to have a glass at night. Anyway my company fired me for that. I have 12 years no tickets or accidents. Will anyone hire me now even?

That's rough. Not sure what to tell you. What was the duration of employment at the last company that fired you?

I'd practice asking "Would you like fries with that?" Open container is only slightly better than a DUI. In many cases, it is treated the same. After 12 years on the job, you should've known alcohol in the cab was prohibited.

I had only been there a week.

I didn't get a ticket and there is nothing on my driving record but surely my CSA report.

But the officer put me out of service so that didn't set well with the new company. Not saying I didn't deserve what I got but was just wondering if I should chuck it up as lesson learned. The red wine keeps my blood pressure down. I've drank a glass a wine a day my whole adult life and am in perfect health at 59. Years of age. Just don't seem fair to me when troopers go home to family everynight and Truckers aren't even allowed to have a dam glass of wine before bed. Anyway just thought I'd ask thank you for your replies.

And of course I would never drink and drive. Just don't get why they pull ya over for no reason. I'm or shall was a excellent driver. Again 12 years no tickets or accidents I guess means nothing in the trucking Industry.

Its the law thats why and they re not going to bend them for anyone.Had your company found the wine you still would get the same consequences. This will likely go on your DAC.

Distracted driving is the reason, but usually it's from lane departure or something like that, getting over the fog line with the trailer is one they like.

Whereabouts did this happen , and heavy or light traffic?
