Wow I thought at least one person would say I should should do it without any sarcasm. Lol but I completely understand. It's a big risk but the reward could be big too. Tell me one business that a person can get into without taking any risk.

You're right he has very little cash to put foe the down payment. But we wouldn't be splitting the profit evenly either. I just need to get through the first few months with the two of them. If my cousin quits driving I'll find another driver. Based on my calculations I can afford to pay 55-60c/mile for a quality driver. If my friend doesn't wanna work with me I'll go to a other company and get loands. He charging me the same as anyone else anyway 12%.

That had better be a w2. Even then it's on the average side, not the quality side. If you plan that on a 1099, the only drivers you will get are the ones that tear up equipment, if insurance will even allow the hire.

    Welcome to the forum.
    Wrong area and thread.

Go to experienced Truckers, and start a new thread.
Give more information like region, length of trip, how many axles your on, single trailer or B train, and what you want to haul.

    BennysPennys Thanks this.

No far from it. I find it easy to post thst something is a good idea but once I have to sit down and drop $20k for a down payment for equipment thst someone else will handle I'm sure that will not be so easy. Just trying to get some pros and cons of my plan.

You sound determined to throw away your money.
So why not go to your nearest childrens hospital, and make them a donation of $200,000 so at least your money did some good.
    Merry Christmas!
