Does anyone know of a safe way to secure farm equipment inside a 53’ dry van? I’m currently using blocks nailed to the floor and straps. I’m looking for a better way that is cost effective.

The best way is to turn down that load.

I have questions, and they're not strictly about the freight...

Yeah, hauling stuff like that in a van is tricky. I hauled a lot of forklifts in van trailers. About the only thing you an do is chock the tires, and a strap or chain on the back,( if your floor has D rings) or empty pallets in front of it, in case of a sudden stop, you aren't wearing it. It'll be fine.

I second straps. If its tight, and you don't drive reckless, itll make it. That's a nice light load there.

You're doing about all you really can do in that scenario. The post about hauling forklifts that's how any company I have seen haul forklifts do it in dry vans. They'd just nail 2x4 pieces around the tires of the lift trucks.

We fix a 53ft. van to bring home big but still able to fit in a van farm tractor, we bolted and welded cross wise angle iron under floor with C shaped tie downs that lay down when not having chains hook in them, He got it home with truck driving story of having to piling on brakes to keep from hitting a car that came off side of road in ft. of him, and everything holding like flat bed trailer?

I have seen a 1949 John Deere model R hauled to another place inside a van trailer.

The guy bought a different house 1.5 hours away.

Even left the tractor running and closed the doors because it has starting issues.

Must be a strange feeling to have a Putt Putt Putt engine shaking the truck and echoing through the trailer.

Likely have a lot of people looking at him :laughing6:
