71 in a 55 is 16 over... 15 is considered reckless. You absolutely need to fight this.

I have never.gotten a speeding ticket in a big truck in the US, but I am fighting a leaving the scene of an accident I didn't know happened in Jersey right now. I am using a local atty figuring he knows the local prosecutor and judges.

I have fought and won numerous speeding tickets in my car over the years, not that hard to do at all but I still think I would hire an Atty for a big truck one and especially in Ohio.

Good luck, bit fight it, 16 over is not. Joke.

yep thats my plan. its sad that these cops can write tickets weather good or not and its up to us to spend our money and time to fight, all the while theres no recourse for the officers that write them. My ancestors are rolling in there graves thinking of what this country has turned into.

You have to fight the ticket using a local attorney that specializes in traffic cases. They are usually in cahoots with the judges, or JOP, and can work out a deal in your favor. 15 MPH over the speed limit in a commercial vehicle could be a career ender. You have to resolve this to save your livelihood. When u got pulled over, did you ask the officer if he can reduce the speed on the ticket to reflect something under the over 15 mph. Sometimes this will work if he will cut u a break, then u can fight it later. Also, how did he get you for speeding? Radar? Did you ask to see the radar gun with the speed posted?

i did ask him how he got me, he said laser/radar. oh yeah, i forgot to mention, it was raining pretty good when he got me. that was another reason i said, i seriouly doubt you got me at 71. the guy seemed to be inexperienced and was driving around with no head lights on. the only reason i could tell he was back there is when i saw the blue lights come on. if i hadnt noticed him coming out of the median before hand, i wouldnt have seen his dark gray car.

tryin to negotiate with this guy was harder than chinese arithmetic. the officer lacked alot of skill, not just saying that because i got a ticket, but with how he handled the traffic stop. makes me wonder if he even knew how to use the radar gun. he made the comment,"you were goin so fast i felt the wind rush by me in my car".
