I have a CDL-A with Tanker endorsement and Manual restriction but no tractor trailer experience. Have passed HAZMAT just have to get fingerprinted. Info on best experience building route toward driving Tanker will be appreciated. Out of SW Ohio.

You could try loves (aka Gemini) or airgas. But once ppl get the training from airgas they high tail to somewhere else

Schneider Bulk trains new drivers in Chemical Tank. Pay isn't top of the line but their training is good so if you put in some time there and keep your record clean you can go about anywhere you want. Superior was taking on new drivers too and would be the better choice but with the Heniff buying them I don't know if they still do. Find out if there are any tanker terminals near you. Then go in person and talk to the terminal manager. Much better chance in person than applying over the net.

Did you graduate from cdl school or do that on your own?
If you graduated from cdl school, how many hours was it.
@kemosabi49 gave good advice on Schneider Bulk.
I've pulled tankers with automatic transmission and that makes the driving smooth even with surge.Flat Earth Trucker, SouthernNortherner and firemedic2816 Thank this. -
Milk haulers make good money. This company hires new cdl school grads plus has their own cdl school.

I got lucky and the waste collection company I worked for sent me to an outside school so I got the A instead of the B needed for waste collection trucks, but therefore no T/T experience after school. With test scheduling there was a shorter wait for the auto test truck and I was aching from the months paying dues in the milk crate size helper seat so I took auto test.

There's a Heniff terminal 15 min away and Superior an hour away. Just spoke with terminal group. And have to call back tomorrow to speak with HR also. Schneider I have already pre hired coming out of school so I know I can go with them but heard so many pay issues gonna look for other options first unless I get current info saying it's better.

I understand I may have to haul a different line of freight to start or go with less desirable company to start. I understand the process of paying dues and realistic about the process of apprenticeship/training before acquiring more leverage as a skilled experienced driver.

Pretty sure Superior Carriers uses automatics.
Two terminals in Ohio.
I think Heniff bought Superior and now require 200 hr. cdl school certificate.
You can call and find out for sure.
