Why would you buy a truck and lease it onto a bottom feeder like JCT that pays what $1.05 mile or somewhere in that range? Why not take it elsewhere?

    Opendeckin and BoostedTeg Thank this.

Thanks for the reply. After reading this, I don’t think i want to go through the hassle of getting my own authority. That seems like a huge responsibility that I’m not ready for. The idea of buying my own truck then getting under contract (?) with a company like you are with JCT seems like the way to go for me. The 6 month lease sounds like something I’d be interested in as well. I have no idea how to fix anything, I just know how to drive the #### thing...

Yeah I want to stay as a company driver for awhile to try to save up at least but mostly for the experience. I don’t want to just jump right into this thing... I’m just thinking ahead

There will be times when you're not making anything, or spending more than you're taking in.

And it's physically draining of the mind and body.

What I'm saying is that you have to work your ### off and if you have crap to pay for in your personal life, remember that it's a business venture and you could fail.

I wouldn't risk your family's finances on this.
If you're single like me, and fck all to pay for, then do it.

Go through and read my blog on here.

Get some experience and save up $40,000, and wait until the next recession comes and goes.

    Where would you recommend?

btw, have no endorsements, so tanker might be out of the question.
no flatbed either, would love to, but it would only be a matter of time before I fell off the trailer while tarping a load due to a knee giving out.

I'm single with no kids so hometime is of no concern
