Thanks so much for all the pointers everyone!! I'm thinking maybe get a CDL, get truck, and drive it all up there, unload & sell it all.
    Happy Holidays, safe travels!!

Doing this as a private carrier (not for hire) might not be a bad idea.

I don't know about the Canadian aspect of this, regarding permission to travel through their country, I've had interaction with them before and was not favorable, especially going from lower 48 northbound to Alaska. Insurance will be another issue too, that I need to check out.

You need to arrange with a CANADIAN Customs Broker to do an "In Transit Bond" through Canada.

Put it on USHIP and see what kind of bid you get. May get a reasonable rate, who knows.

most won't "rent" or "lease" a truck unless you have 3 years business history though.

Just know that most of the idiots on Uship may have a legitimate business license but a large majority of them do not even have a DOT number and dont abide by any regulations, so you could possibly lose everything. You will find out that 11,000 is a fair price (even though im not bidding on your load) from just WA to AK for trucking it up. If it was lets say from TX to AK then 15,000 would be a fair bid. Try Lynden Transport first (per the link I posted) as they are the largest Alaska shipper and look at barging it up from Seattle/Tacoma. There are other barge companies also and this is how the majority of folks up there get their stuff.

If you want to fool around with the idiots on uship then thats your business but will give you a good example of something. I had a buddy buy a boat (just a month ago) in Ohio and went to Uship to get someone to haul it out here. He got a decent price (what I thought at the time) of 1.65 per mile per 2250 miles (I think) and didnt ask me beforehand about any of it, I have a 53 ft stepdeck and truck. The boat arrived by a regular joe blow driving a pickup with a boat trailer with no dot number or business name. Luckily the boat arrived in one piece with no damage but what a ripoff. He could have gotten it himself for a cheaper price or I could have hauled it on my stepdeck as an LTL for a cheaper price as I was out in that area at the time. I laughed at him and said next time to ask legitimate hauling companies first for their bid,

Thanks M_M_M, I know what you are saying, I'm thinking just get the equipment & take it up there it myself, I've been looking on ebay for a decent truck, for decent price. I do have some time to figure it out tho. I guess it's pretty rare for
an outfit thats based in AK bring a load down to lower 48 and needs a load to get back up there?

    Mommas_money_maker Thanks this.

Sure just go down to the corner pick up your CDL ( like a loaf of bread).

Buy a truck (off of e-bay) and haul it up there yourself.

    How hard could it be?

You really have no clue about anything involved in trucking do you?

I'd tell you my real thoughts but I kind of like coming on here and sharing thoughts with REAL people.
