I don't think they are a BAD company. We have one in Indian Hills which is a rough spot near Little Rock but the staff are warriors. So the stocking and so on rolls on in that store.
I was in a Kroger distribution down near Houston or some such place long ago. The complete situation of delivering there was a absolute fubar. (Don't ask me what that means...) and Im standing there in my trailer looking at the load I learned to hate that morning holding manual spreadsheets on pencil. The entire place was chaos pointed in one direction towards the smaller company trucks waiting to take it to stores. A form of cross dock back then.
I got it empty. It vanished before we had a chance to make a count and quality OSD etc. None of that matters. pass BOL sign shipper load and count and out. Now. don't dawdle tumbleweed. Fine.
Things like that has a way of branding one for life and you make a black book and write that facility into it so that you know not to load for it. I thought things were bigger in Texas but not everywhere.
After a few years of research ???

I'll get my own camera thank you very much.
I recognize the both sides of the camera problem, but I refused to be part of some real time monitoring. I'll do my own.Texas_hwy_287 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Congrats. If you haven't already put in for your hazmat do it now. I went down to get finger printed and start the background check yesterday before they closed and it has already been approved. It will be easier to do it now so when you pass all of your DMV test it will just go on you licence with all the other endorsements.
Texas_hwy_287, dennisroc, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do you live in Muncie?
Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
Dont let the camera deal affect your decision, use R&L as a stepping stone then move on to the other LTLs. Besides working for em youll get the experience as a city P&D and your backing skills will improve.
x1Heavy and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
You know what. With the jobs I think you need to take reviews with a grain of salt good or bad. It all comes down to what is gonna work with you. My job has ####ing horrible reviews and I love it. Dudes crying about old trucks, lot of hours, stick shift trucks and the occasional truck with no AC....deal breakers for a lot of people but not for me so it works. I retired early from UPS and couldn't wait an extra day to get the #### out of there and you rarely hear bad things about them (tho it's usually all from people that have never worked there or been there like a year lol). So jobs are not a one size fits all. You seem to be very good about doing your research so what I would do if I were you is make a list. Hours, pay, benefits, quality of equipment, distance from home and rate them all from most important to least. That's what I did with about six job offers to end up where I'm at now and it seems to be a really good fit. I have no doubt you will find a good home.

@FlaSwampRat dont forget no radios on the trucks too drivers like to have sound.
my truck does not have a radio, but what I care the most is pay raises, benefits and pto time along with the hours. Everything else I can deal with.
G13Tomcat, x1Heavy and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
