Age of drivers, is 60 too old to start?

    The average age of CDL truck drivers is 56. 60 IS NOT too old to start. Make sure your BP and blood sugar is under control. If your BP tests above 140/90 you will need to get on BP medicine and that will limit you to a 1 year DOT Medical Card. You can work a whole career with only a 1 year DOT card versus the 2 years DOT card. The job can be very stressful, mostly because of all of the bad car drivers trying to kill themselves using your truck.
