You are not too old. If yow use the knowledge you have gained in those years to take care of the future. If you can drive for 8 to 10 hours without being stressed out at the end of the trip, trucking may be just the ticket you are looking for. But if you suffer from road rage attacks while driving a car, trucking may not be for you unless you can learn to control the rage.

I new a gentleman that went from pharmaceutical sales to driving after retirement. You're never too old if your mindset is right.

If you want to drive and stay in shape, go flatbed. I drove for arrow and i promise I was in the best shape all the time. The down side was being dirty and cold, wet, hot but certainly always dirty. Just get a good supply of generic baby wipes and swab yourself before setting sail.

NO, your not too old, been running into a lot of retirees from other jobs out here. Just because they look older doesn,t mean they have been driving long.

One thing..... when you're doing your DOT physical, do your best to hold in the urge to throttle the fat, sleazy looking, a fast walk for 10 ft would kill em paper pushers who will sit there discussing your right to pass just like you weren't right there in front of them. That's always the most stressful part of the whole exercise for me.
It should be legal to kill at least 10 self-important "office monkeys" per year. -
....and me at 53 planning a comeback

Trucks today ride on clouds of air. Computers take away the need to mentally worry about what you are doing it's all push button now. Everything else boils down to needing to know where to be at what time and date. It's mindless.
Perfect for you if you can stand it.Wargames Thanks this.
