I am considering a career in truck driving. What do you all think of a 44 year old mans chance at succeeding.

Just do some research before you go to school on if you can actually get a job.

My recommendation is that now is not the time to get into the trucking industry. Times are tough, freight is slow, and rates are down. Just my recommendation.

As long as you can pass the DOT physical you should be fine. I went to SAGE for school but I would recommend going through your local university or community college, if available. It took me 2 months to find a job after graduation, and that was back in 2007. I am kind of surprised I still have that job and am happy with it as long as I get enough runs between paydays to pay the bills.
