Hello .... im 25 years old and driving about a year now .....
i do about 2-3 trips a week .... from Montreal Canada , to maryland or Pa or Nj ...

The reason im writing this thread is the following..

Everytime i pass the champlain boarder (montreal into Ny) i goes very smooth ......... except for when i get one officer in particular.

He 1st gave me a hard time when i took my fiance with me and she wasnt on the manifest , she had her passport , no criminal record ...clean as a whistle ..... other officers never gave me a hard time when i bring her along and shes not on the manifest

Everytime i get him at the booth , he has a toughf guy tone , always sends me into x-ray (x-ray at champlain takes 10-15min a truck , and sometimes theres 6-7 trucks in line........

now sunday when i got to the booth he was very rude , agressive , ...... all his anger incresed because i didnt know what the 1041-A was on my manifest,he kept sighing and nodding his head , and then he asked me what the company was going to do with the empty cartons i was delivering to PA , n i told him i dont know i just deliver and leave , i dont work at the factory , thats when he got super agressive and made me pull up n open my doors

when he was done i closed my doors and stood at the stairs near his booth while he got my paper work and liscence , when he came out i was kinda infront of him and he yelled at me ..MOVE!!!!......

Thats when i got agressive with him and asked him why he always has a poor attitude with me and always gives me a hard time when ive done nothing but be respectfull everytime i pass .... he said i have a attitude problem and im rude with my answer of not working at the factory , i told him hes just a young punk power tripping , n he threatened to turn me back to canada , so i told him i dont give a #### , ill go back home , n he just gave me my paper work and said next time if i have that attitude hes turning me back to canada.... so i just drove off into the vacis line up (5 trucks behind)

what i want to know is , if the next time i get him , hes agressive , is it against my favour to go into the customs office and speak to his supervisor and explain the situation , would it make my crossing into u.s harder???

    your input is greatly wanted

I would speak to a supervisor, period. Explain the attitude issue, and that you're just trying to get through the line like everyone else.

I would have long since spoken with his supervisor. He's probably like that to everybody.

I must agree, I would talk to the supervisor as well. No one should have to deal with disgruntled employee who put all there problems on you because they can. That isn't right. Your doing a job just like he is. Don't put up with people with sour attitudes as it wont go away until you handle it. Yeah you don't get him everytime, but you shouldn't pull up in line and pray that he isn't there. Just aint' right.

I feel your pain.. sort of.
I used to haul sodium cyanide to the gold mines in the NW and during the fall, we would hit Hedley BC twice a week, or more, to get them stocked up for the winter. Well, heading north was always uneventful, but it almost never failed that, heading south, if a certain U.S. Customs agent was working, he would check me and my paperwork very thoroughly. It would take forever, compared to the other agents. He never searched the truck, though, just ran me, myself through the check (whatever check it was). And he would do it even if he'd just seen me a couple days prior. Difference is, he was never rude or acted tough, like your guy, just very short and no personality.
    The kicker?

    His last name was Castro.:biggrin_2559:

Bring your girl along and have her insult his manhood. If that don't work, punch him in the face, and I mean HARD. Better to be a sucker puncher than a snitch. Well, unless you really need your job, and you don't think a little jail time would agree with you. Then I guess you'd better take the other advice offered. But you know my advice would make you feel great for a few minutes.

And there it is. He has no control over anything else outside of his job, so, guess what! You're it!
    I hate people like that.
