Wasn't trying to make it sound that way at all. The point I was getting at is not knowing it may have been apart prior to working on it cam timing is the last thing I would have thought as well. We all know that it just doesn't move so how could it be out would have been my thought. Remember I got in on the end of this and seen other possibilities had been eliminated. If you were offended I'm sorry. I have learned to check even what the customers says they have checked even when they are very competent in engine repair.

And the plot thickens....
Sometimes it starts fantastic. Sometimes it runs rough while starting. Sometimes it starts good but runs rough after 5 seconds. Hooked up DDDL and the BOI is out of wack. It should be 11 at key on, 20 @ 900 rpm after starting, and probably sustain it for a while slowly coming down as the engine warms up.. Sometimes it is 11 key on then immediately 5 (which is when it runs rough), other times it is 11 then 20 (smooth) then after a few seconds reverts to 5 and chugs like a coal train.
Going to talk to Leon tomorrow. Other than random starting issues it runs like a beauty. Absolutely silky smooth, no funny noises, nothing.Last edited: Feb 22, 2014

What are the air temperature when it runs rough

Air temp was disabled in the cal, but it was 15 c in the shop. Spent all day back and forth with Leon. Long story short we finally have it good, maybe. There's still a chance it could be the ecm as well.
