Do the 2 buckets like the grape ape said first take the return line from the back of the head put it in the bucket with fuel an start the truck cold if u c bubbles next pull the line from the filter to the pump if it still has bubbles its probably one of the injectors not seating an sucking air if u dont get bubbles than its the filter back to the tanks. Put the line in the bucket with fuel than start again to c what happens

I had the same problem air bubbles in davco and took longer to start. I replaced the valve in the filter head made no difference. So what I did next was get a tube of rtv sealer and put it at every connector on the fuel lines and I also put it around the fuel pump just for the hell of it. I waited a hour for it cure and I started the truck had a long start but no more bubbles in the davco. Turn the truck off went home for the night. Turn the truck on the next morning it fired right up, no more long start and all bubbles were gone.

My davco did the same thing. Even with new check valve on my davco it got hung up and caused more air bubbles the higher it went in rpm.i just played around with the check valve and got it to reseat itself.

you should pressure test the fuel system only at the cylinder head. It's possible that you have an injector or ring leaking. Sometimes they get split when installing the new injector. The only way to tell what cylinder is causing the problem is 5 polling manifold and turbol off and starting the truck seeing what's cylinder is coughing all white smoke. It is alot of work what sometimes it the only way 2 diagnose the fuel system. Have you tried bypassing the davco.how old is the cylinder head. Is it possible the head could have of crack in it.sorry about the typo ism using voice to text.

I dont think its air. Ecm and program are fine. This is where things get weird. If eyou turn the truck completely off it will usually smoke even after a minute. But if you leave key on it won't no matter how long. Yesterday I had it key off a few times and it never smoked. The tech said if you leave key on it won't reset. When it resets it
R e t a r d s timing which ironically is supposed to help with starting but its the opposite. He suggested cam timing which is.extremely unlikely. Leaving the key on keeps the timing advanced. I'm positive its timed right I had the front cover off doing the bullgear and stuff like that I check three times

Also it smoked like this before I pulled the engine apart. it progressively got worse and was somewhat random until the last week before I pulled it apart, it was terrible.

New head, injectors, fuel system, bullgear, srs, trs. It has smoked before and after all these things. Ecm and program have been eliminated as well.

Going to look at air intake temp and oil temp sensors the one lead tech said these affect starting timing greatly. Also going to look at wiring harness and injector harness. I also think I need more info so in testing on the road. Also going to double check that its the right cam.

Mine smoked when cold for years thought it was getting old in sept 11 i broke #1 piston did whole motor liners pistons rings cam an crank bearings all detroit parts an detroit reman head an injectors an new turbo it still smokes when cold also did air temp sensor still the same. The Rebel says its the spill valves on the injectors hanging up i think its air in the fuel. I'm gonna do what grape ape said see what happens.
