Is the oil temp sensor the one behind the turbo in the head an water temp sensor is drivers side above the power steering an air compressor right.

Oil temp is on the block above the starter, as is the oil pressure. These ones are for the ECM. There may be other temp/pressure sensors but those are usually on the passenger side and are OEM installed. Water temps are both on passenger side.

Might as well bring this one back from the dead. As per Rebel127 I'm going to check the following:

    1) Cam timing using dial indicator method as per detroit service manual, he doesn't think I screwed up the timing but rather maybe the cam or gear is off, or maybe the dowel is off.
    2) Injector leakdown, park overnight, blow a ######## of air through injectors, pull injectors and check for puddling on pistons

If those don't work he's going to try tweaking the timing tables in the ECM.

That video reminds me of my old Big Cam 1 when everything was working fine.

Allan.. I have had the exact same symptoms as you. for years. it just started one day. replaced everything you did. still have same starting issue when cold. I just figured I have to live with it, cause nothing I have done fixed the problem. gear train, inframe, injectors, all new fuel lines, new inj harness,e.t.c. also have the black slime on in side of tanks too, but diesel is clear in the davco. I took all the advice to remedy it, mainly cause I had over a mil miles & all that I had done was about time anyway for my preventative maint program. your list mimics mine to the tee & does your symptoms. Hope you get this problem solved & post. good luck.
