Air compressor stopped working. Where's the nozzle that lets you manually blow air into the tanks?

Ain't that what buildings and trees are for? I'd add pedestrians, but once you squish a couple, the rest start screaming and running around. The screaming annoys me, and the running throws off my aim. And you do need a LOT of pedestrians to slow a fully loaded truck!

Don't think you would make it very far with out your compressor even with a fully aired up system.
1 or 2 light taps on the brakes would drain enough air off that you would be locked up.

Changed out my drivers seat the other night and had the air ride line off. Surprised how little volume of air is actually held in the system.

Used to do that all the time on the air starts. Uusally she starts at - 30 in about 10 seconds in those days. But if not? Grab a hot running tractor, feed off it's trolley (Red glad hand) and keep cranking.

But Im going with the suggestion CALL ROAD SERVCE, through your dispatcher or whatever.

Old guys like me kept a box of small attachments, adapters, valves etc in the side box so you can get at any of the air tanks under there. But frankly.. if the air compressor is completely dead as happened to me once. Dead. Kaput. Bye bye. That's a complete and irrevocable tow call to a shop or back to company yard depending on where the dispatcher or even His boss decides.

Those spring brakes come on for your protection and the protection of everyone near your sick rig without that air compressor feeding everything. It needs to stay parked securely on any grade in any weather until properly handled by people specifically trained in dealing with this problem.

It's nice to be a super driver hero and cobble something together. But don't be silly. Call your boss and say hey, she aint going no where, air compressor is dead. Whatever you are trying to get to a mile away might as well be on the moon. Or a 20 minute walk.

The tow people definately are trained in how to precisely feed the patient with air as it goes to the shop. Don't worry about that stuff. Just get yourself a place to stay a while until fixed.
