Did the old governor purge system at 140 also?
Could be your dash gauge isn't accurate. -
Old governor did the same thing that why I replace it would not do it all the time now it does getting worse an it not my dash gauge had that replace.
-
What is getting worse?
I have an older truck. My top pressure is around 135. -
sounds normal

There is a plate on top of the compressor that has the unloader-valves in them. You have to buy the kit and replace them(o rings etc). Easy fixed. Make sure you get the right kit. I believe they have 2 different ones. I removed mine first and took it the parts house to make sure they had the correct one.
