Betting that the governor is set way too high!! There should be about a 30 lb. differential between "cut in" & "cut out", "unload" , if it's "cuting in" # 130 it normally wouldn't "unload" 'til about 160, 10 lbs. over the popoff's setting! Sorry that I didn't key from your first post when you mentioned the 130 lb thing. Oops, stil' tryin'

After a bit of investigation I have found out the compressor is brand new, along with a host of other parts on the motor, I was aware of this at purchase but it is a long story, any how looks like a governer is in my future and the good news is it is covered under my warranty, but am a bit leary to let them touch the dang thing, great example of no good mechanics around anymore just happened today, a bit back my wife had the oil in my car done for me at a shop near her work, I was on the road and it needed it bad so i gave the go ahead, this was 3 months ago, today i changed the oil, and when i droped the lower cowling a filter wrench, 3/8 drive and a 16 mm socket came rolling out, "nice" whoever did the job left his tools in the engine compartment, guess he thought I was going to be a repeat customer, Scary!!! as far as I am concerned.. It is the perfect example why over the years I have forced my self to work on everything motorized we own here which is quite a bit, to this point i have never failed, so maybe I will give it a go, anyway thanks so much for the help guys. Everything was very helpful!!!!

When you adjust the govener a little bit goes a long way. When you get close to your desired cut off pressure, about 120, use 1/4 turns to fine tune it.

there is an adjustment, do you know what the govenor looks like?
is is about 4-5 inches long and about 2 inches in diameter and should have a rubber cover on the front of it, remove the rubber and there is an adjustment screw, turn it one way or the other till you get the desired air pressure and retighten it and replace the cover, should take about 5 minutes -
if you are having problems all of a sudden replace the govorner they are cheap don't bother with a rebuilt one either just buy a new one about $30 bucks and adjust as needed
