run the oil lines through the air cooler and block off the coolant lines to the old one and get rid of it

Mount the cooler anywhere that it can get a good flow of air. Also keep it positioned so the air goes through it and not just past it.

Sorry I mistyped the thread title earlier. I should have said water-cooled to air-cooled transmission cooler. I had the part number saved and cannot find it. I was hoping someone here may have had the part number handy. Oh well. No worries.

You can also adds a electric fan to it if you can’t mount it in a place with good air flow

air-cooled cooler...

This is the aftermarket conversion kit I was referring to. It includes the hoses and fittings to adapt to the OEM cooler that has the coolant lines to it. This one bolts to the back of the trans or you can mount it anywhere.

I see quite a few mounted just below the rear of the sleeper.
Seen one mounted on its edge below the right front cab mount too on the frame, I’d be afraid a gravel would shorten its life span there.
I bought a good used one at the local heavy truck parts place, $100…..Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
