I saw a video of a Knight driver airing up trailer tires with an air hose connected to their tractor. Is this common or did they have special air connections?

you can pick up the hose at nearly any truck stop or online. it connects via the trailer brakes (red) air line with glad hands.

You can buy an air hose with a glad hand to attach to your air lines, release the tractor brakes and you get air of the tractor to air up your tires in an emergency or in places where you can't get to air. Takes a bit longer than using an air compressor at a truck stop or tire shop, but good in a pinch

You're better off buying the hose, glad hand, and air chuck separately. Avoid the POS plastic hoses, especially as we're getting into winter...not very flexible in cold weather. Get a good rubber or hybrid hose. Also, a chuck that locks on is handy as well so that you can get a flat tire airing up and continue your pre-trip, as opposed to having to sit there holding it for as long as it takes to air up. Not only that, but if you don't know how many miles have been put on that underinflated or flat tire, you may not want to have your face right next to it as you air it up just in case it decides to let go.

Building your own hose with quality pieces will cost about the same, but nets you a far superior product.

Get an airgun nuzzle. It'll blow the carp out of your cab.

Just pull red valve on dash then pull of red line off trailer and replace it with tire air line, when push in red valve on dash and you can air up tires on a trailer that needs air, but look for tears on tire that you are putting air into so you are not near the tire when it blows out?
