never thought about using quick disconnects. That's a smart idea

Might want to get yourself a tire plug kit as well. Also a piece of 4x4 to drive on to as well as flammable brake cleaner. (Don’t use staring fluid). I got myself hose kit from TA and bought brass chuck with threaded ends so you don’t have to hold the chuck for 2-3 minutes while inflating a flat.

I added a quick disconnect to mine so I could pump up a air tank.

I came to work Monday and one tire was unseated.

Now I can pump up air tank. Plug in the chuck. Blow tire up and fill it.

I don't know about plugs though. You'll have a heart attack trying to shove one in a semi tire. Provided you have a good tools and not the cheap kits found at any store.

I just went with an Amazon special

was going to add the quick connects so I could run air tools if I had to but I started spending money on Milwaukee instead

I second this. Definitely replace the air chuck with a long dual foot. The short ones won't reach well at all on the inside of the drive axles.

Get yourself the truck plugs they are thicker than the car plugs, if you can find them. I put two of them together and plugged a hole in the side wall of a rear tire so I could get in on home once (i know, i know, you ain't supposed to plug a side wall) interesting fact: it's illegal to plug a semi tire. Anyways cut the plugs flush and went home, a week later got into a terminal and asked the safety lane to replace that tire. They said nothing's wrong with it, we can't. When I showed them the plug area they said wow how did that get there? I dunno, just noticed it when airing up this tire the other day.
Don't get me wrong, it took two monkeys and an organ grinder to push those plugs in the hole!

Yeah, then you can use neat stuff like a little hand held blower and blow out all rhe dust and cobwebs that are in places that you just can't get to (like the cobwebs on my brain lol)

I traded out the one that came on the truckstop orange hose. Picture doesn't show it but this chuck has threads cut into the ends so it will hang onto the valve stem threads. Don't have to get down on your knees to keep it on the valve stem. Push it on, let the weight of the hose pull the chuck down and the internal threads will catch on the valve stem threads.

None of the trucks I ever drove (fleet spec) ever had sufficient volume to drive air tools. I, like you, would opt for lithium battery tools instead.

Definitely worth every penny if you have to get out in triple digit weather and make sure all tires have 100#'s!!
