I'll strictly fly a A380 and pay 35000 for a butler and apartment up front past first class.

Ive turned my tahoe into a sleeper back there, I'll get there when I get there.

IF money was not a object I'll book a 5 hour light jet. Either coast in that time from a small airport a 15 minute drive from where I am. If I hold a passport and have a little more money, and a long range GS550 or better, I'll take it overseas.

I think to myself “That looks so comfortable” as I head back to my seat. I live in the land of no direct flights (unless you happen to be going to Denver, Minneapolis, or Chicago) so none of the flights are long when flying to anywhere in the lower 48.

Some airlines already do this on small aircraft for safety reasons (weight and balance being critical to aircraft performance).

On even smaller aircraft weighing to Datum point is even more critical.

I think my pilot was around 180, I was 120 that makes 300 and the suitcase about 70 more in the small cubby behind the seat and behind the wings which created a issue with the Cessna 152 in those days. She took it ok, but stall was around 72 instead of 64 and you had to mind the trim to lift the tail a bit more. She didnt like to fly like that much, but she took it. A skyhawk 172 or a Archer would have no problems at our weight but they were not availible because the rentals had them up in the air with other customers. The Archer in particular with the 180 engine left quite a impression. Close to being inside a nice car in good weather.

9 years ago While my wife and I were on our honeymoon, we flew on go!Mokulele Airlines from Kahului,Maui to Kona on the Big Island. The airplane used on the route was a Cessna Caravan single engine turboprop. Before they loaded the plane up they made everyone stand on the scale with and without their luggage so they could properly balance the plane.

As the American population becomes more obese airlines are looking for a way to capitalize on it.

Jets and props are two different planes. Yes weight is an issue for a jet as well but its not as critical as weight for a prop plane.

Bottom line we charge by the weight, airlines thinking the same and i agree.

A Cessna Caravan weighs more than 2000 pounds and has way more horsepower and torque than you think.
