Hi all, just signed up, been reading and following this thread for over a year. Tons of great information and insight along with a bit of humour and sarcasm. Hope all the frequent posters and old hands keep it going. Thanks!!

Thanks boom Truckin. Are you on frac in red deer now I take it?
im just not sure whether or not to jump ship right now. Even though it has slowed down, I'm still bringing home between 3-4k a month. And that's working in the shop everyday that I'm not out in the truck. -
I'm on my holidays right now. I'm in frac department in Hinton. We get a lot of transfers from cement and coil because they make little money. I have worked here since June 11 of last year and have made 92k for the year, Not including meal allowances. During breakup all you make is salary, but when it's busy you make good money. March was my best month ever, take home total was $12.3k and worked my days off that month. Mind you it's long hours away from home and it takes a toll on you mentally and physically. 100k a year is easily attainable when your signed off as a frac pumper class 2, I was only signed off in February and that's when your bonus's get bumped up to full rate.
Red Deer, Hinton, and GP are the bases you can make great money. Stay away from Bulker, bonus's were decreased 40% and most transferred back to frac or quit.
Right now our entire base is on a big Shell job that's running for 20 days plus, 24 hour operation. We are busy right now and looks to stay that way all summer.
Good luck.oilfield Thanks this. -

me and you can work at the same company, same hours, same wages and our take home can be different -
Lots of very useful info in this thread, I have been following it for about a year. I am planning to apply for Calfrac fracturing operator position but they have several different job positions: Iron/Sand Truck, Chemical Unit, Frac Pump, Blender, Coiled Tubing. So I am looking for some insight in terms of pay/difficulty/learning curve, thanks in advance.
