General question: how much can owner operators expect to gross and net. Also what type of truck would be best suited for that? I imagine there can be a lot of rough roads what weight is typically pulled what sort of engine would i need?
-
General answers:
Gross: $70,000 - $500,000
Net: everything you don't spend on truck payment / lease / rent, trailer payment / lease / rental, plates, insurance, fuel, taxes, maintenance, fees, permits, etc.
Truck: get a good one
Weight: 1,000 lbs - 200,000 lbs
Engine: medium to big, running, but not too thirsty -

Nope we're usually worse
First off your question was kind of stupid and indicates you're not ready to be an owner operator. How you spec the ttuck depends on what you want to do. You gave NO indication what you expect to do, so how in the world can anyone tell what is appropriate setup. First get some experience as a company driver. In thr process you should find a company you trust and like working for. Look at their trucks and how they're specced and go from there.not4hire and bartthefart Thank this. -
