When I was a smoker, the best cigarettes I smoked were Players from the UK.
Fortunately, I quit after 21 yrs. of heavy smoking.

I read an article the other day that they predict alcohol will kind of go the way of cigarettes. Fading out... People recognizing more and more, the ill effects of it on health. It really does mess you up the older you get. I limit my drinking to twice monthly at most. Never could see how others do it daily. For me now, it’s a treat to go out and have a few.

I quit both. Smoking was the hardest thing I quit. Drinking was the hardest to stay quit. The were no pluses in smoking. It did nothing except make me stop wanting nicotine for a short while. The nicotine did nothing, but my body had to have it. No high, no pleasure from it at all , except the short release of having to have it. Does or did anyone get any kind of reward from smoking? Did it get you high? Or any feelings of well being?
Atlanta trucker and 201 Thank this. -
I picked up the smoking habit in basic training. If you were a smoker, you got a smoke break and if you didn't smoke, you got no break and had to keep working or whatever was going on at the time.

As for drinking, the doctor told me, "If you just have to drink, then drink Chardonnay White Wine only." As a
Type II diabetic, can drink that wine and still keep the blood-sugar under control.

Smoking is a nice dopamine hit after enjoying a good meal or having a few drinks. I smoked from the time I was about 12 or 13 years old until I was 20 and quit then stupidly picked up the habit again from when I was around 30 until I was 37. Hard habit to kick. Did it twice. It's miserable for months and months until you finally feel free from them. To this day the smell of somebody lighting one up makes me want to eat a pack of cigarettes. I could easily go back to them lol.

When I lived in North Yorkshire in the UK, there was a pub directly across from my house. I am surprised I lived through it all. Awesome times.
