Thanks HD ! I'll be spinning mine off and inspecting the o ring. Mine is a dog so I'm not sure of the number but I'll be looking !....and buying NAPA !!

I'm also going to print your atricle for the o/o wall. Shame on them if they don't read it......

I don't know if this will provide a solution for this problem, but if you look up the LF9080 filter on Fleetguards website; there is a filter listed as an upgrade for it. It is the LF9031.

Thats what my Cummins people said yesterday as well - LF9031 is the right filter for ISX now. They said it used to be that Fleetguard was pushing LF9070 but Cummins was into LF9031 already. And now suddenly Fleetguard is changing it's own recommendations? All this deal stinks :biggrin_2554:

So far we have been successful in finding pieces there. It can be hard especially if there is piece in between nozzles holes. No telling how far along it can get. Oil flow out of the filter heads straight into the block and also feeds the turbo, pull the turbo feed off and check that. After the oil is feed to the block the riffle runs along the right side with drillings to feel each main bearing. At the front and rear of the block there is another drilling to feed oil to the left side of the block for another main riffle to feed the cooling nozzles. The drillings for the main bearing feed look to be smaller than the nozzle ones and maybe that is why they get pushed to that side. In order for the piece to get to that side it has to make two 90 degree turns. For now, it may just be stuck somewhere harmlessly. I don't know what to tell you. Definitely keep that filter!

Yah, I know, but I have seen it and looks to be way superior to the FG ones. If it saves your engine then that's money well spent.

Do you guys think this might be caused by extended service intervals?
