Depends on location and company. To pull cans out of a port yes, unless your company wants to pay for an escort every time you go in.
But I occasionally pull out of rail yards and don't have a twic card.Mpeng98 Thanks this. -
is this type of work requires TWIC ? -
I run railyards in Chicago off and on since 2011. I had a TWIC since my days doing the piers in New Jersey. I have never used my card at any railyards in Chicago, and I have been to BNSF, UP, CSX, NS, CN, CP, as well as many of the storage yards. Never needed TWIC card.

Chicago rails do not require a TWIC.

I run out of st.Louis railyards and no twic card needed
Mpeng98 Thanks this. -
I run out of the railyards in Denver and we don't need it. But, I do have one as a just in case, not to mention I've used it a few times as ID at customers instead of giving them my DL, they're too stupid to realize it's not a valid ID for that purpose.
Mpeng98 Thanks this.
