What kind of "mishaps"?
-
How many is "a few"?
-
Where"d you go Chopper??
-
Sorry to hear this. Expensive mishaps cost the company $$$, and you your job. The lesson learned here is that trucking is serious business, not a paid vacation as some people think it is. Hopefully, you can learn from this and get another chance. Signed; "Uncle Allow Me".
roaddawg92 Thanks this. -
Maybe another mishap. I'd like to hear the whole story, seems some mistakes were made and the company sought the best way to deal with them

I saw a driver with one of the student companies this morning rip one of his back doors off at a receiver without a dock and he told me as I was waiting for them to wire it up......"Geez, that cant cost any more the $50 to fix" when the door tore off, it pulled the hinge mounting flange right out of the side of the trailer.........thats going to leave a mark.

Fifty bucks, eh? Kind of reminds me of the old Earl Scheib Auto Painting advertisements of years ago...."Get ten dollars free metal work".
Even back then, ten bucks got you some guy with a clipboard running his hand over it and muttering "Yup, it's a dent."Bubba O'Reilly and roaddawg92 Thank this. -
I did that pulling through a breezeway up to the guardhouse getting ready to check out. It's called a breezeway for a reason I guess.
I didn't notice that the passanger side door had become unlatched and as i pulled through it swung out and got lodged between a wall and a sprinkler pipe. Pulled the door clean off all hinges simultaniously. When the door hit the ground it hit exactly flat and sounded like a cannon. People came running from all directions because one of the guards had been walking by and saw it happening from the rear and he jumped out of the way and landed flat on his face. Everyone thought that I'd killed him but he didnt' even get hit. He just over reacted as it turned out. Anyway, that little "mishap" cost over $2700 to get the door reattached. Not me, but the company.
I was told that anything over $2500 was going to be reported to DAC but it never was, as far as I know.fancypants Thanks this.
