Although I haven't seen the promotional material, I seriously doubt that the school is "Free," what they probably mean is that the training is free if you get hired by CRE and agree to stay with them for a year or so. If you don't complete the schooling for any reason, expect to pay for what training you do get. If you do get hired on by CRE and leave (quit/get fired) within that contract time, you're gonna owe them some money for the schooling.
Suggest that you look on this forum for other posts about CREngland. -
I went to cr england school years ago. It's far from free. In fact, it's quite expensive. Not only I it expensive, it a crap ripoff because the training is horrible.

From what I've read, and seen you should really look into it before you head there. They say you can't go by what others say, but when all you read is negative about something, and can't find anything good about it something is not right. You can also just youtube, and see what others said about it. I personally chose to go to a CDL school that was backed by a Tech school. Not only was it way cheaper than alot of other places, but it was better training than I could've ever expected to get.

CRE? you better spend more time reading on here
you live in a state that has an outstanding community college cdl program in multiple locations.....cost is less than 1/3 of these stand-alone ripoff cdl mills and your choices in hiring will be sooooo much greater and better......
if you don't look into it and take advantadge of what nc has to offer in that regard, then you're going to be sorely disappointed with what you end up with.....not to mention some really good companies located within 2 hours of where you are.
pm me if you want to know more.....i went to dccc through their program and started leaps and bounds above alot of the complainers you see on here who didn't do thier homework -
I just completed orientation with Swift after attending their CDL academy in Idaho. I leave tomorrow with my mentor. I have been very satisfied with the whole process, and up to this point I'm proud to be with Swift.
In orientation there was a guy that just left CRE after only 3 months there, and from his comments, there training program sounds like a joke. It kinda reinforced in my mind, all the horror stories you hear about them. So my advice is, do your homework before you make a decision. -
Research research research! ! ! ! There are a lot of not so good training companies out there. What I did was go to the company DAC report part of this forum and click on every single company that accepts students and read read read read read read read... I researched for probably 6 months before deciding to go with Millis, Roehl is also a decent training company. Almost every company that will train you for "free" you have to sign a one year contract, there is even a company out there that will take you up to 3 years to get everything paid back. Don't let the nice shiny trucks lure you into a company alone. Yeah you don't want to drive a 1995 truck with 1.5million on it but just use common sense. Go to some truck stops and walk around and talk to some of the drivers on your list and see how they like it.

I am currently in training at Western pacific truck school.
It's not carrier training, it's an driver training/CDL school.
160 hours over 4 weeks.
Well worth it IMO if you have never driven a truck, which I have not.
There is a lot to know and I cannot imagine going to carrier training for a few days and then hitting the road.
After 2 weeks I am just barely able to drive the truck and shift a 10 speed. If you have not driven a truck before, I recommend getting trained by a good independent school and go from there.
Some of the carriers offer tuition reimbursement if you paid a school to train you.
Even then, whatever carrier hires you will train you on their trucks and their system anyway, but it won't cost you a dime and you will already have your CDL.
Google "truck driving school" in your zip code, and you will find a bunch. Might even be a program with EDD to pay for it, as there was in my case. EDD wants to make you a taxpayer again, and they have programs in just about every country to train you in a NEW field.
Good luck.spunkymonkey Thanks this. -
If you must go to a company paid program go with Roehl transports..if they will have you..you wont regret it.
