Why would anything in a dry van need 15 straps ? There's very few loads u even need to put that many on flatbed. And those were usually pain in the ### loads that everybody hates

Stage freight for concerts, conventions and the likes. Lightweight, no touch. I can only imagine how well it pays not filtered through a broker. You'll need a milk crate full of rolled up ratchet straps. I always carried about 30 on my truck when I had a dry van.

I've run across a few things I end up with a dozen or more on, grain bin parts and center pivots mostly. I don't mind those loads too much actually, less than I thought I would when I first got into open deck stuff again.

I have used 20 plus straps on a van load before. Bread racks going back to a bakery, multi-stop haz-mat loads. List goes on

Some do. It works, until it doesn't. Then they're the lead feature on the Five O'Clock News.

Many still do but the DOT has been on a load securement kick for some years now. When I was still pulling a dry van, I had DOT cops in Tx and Cali open my trailer doors and check for securement. They said anyway. Might have been really looking for drugs or illegals for all I know.
