PLEASE NOTE: this entire post is largely rumor and conjecture, supported in part by one eyewitness who I have personally spoken to

For the last couple of days, people here in Woodstock NB have been talking about a local o/o whose truck was stolen a few nights ago. After talking to a few people at local shops, turns out this was not a joyride.

In the last week, at least 16 trucks have been stolen from Edmundston to Nackawic, from local shops, even dealerships. These trucks are being used to steal high dollar loads from unsecured company yards in the area. Quality Transport allegedly has had two loads of beer stolen, and Valley Express has allegedly lost a load of King Crab. And that's just the ones I have heard of in Carleton County.

A staff member at a local truck dealership says he followed 3 trucks being stolen from the dealership by "biker types wearing a well-known patch from Quebec" as far as Hartland while on the phone with 911. He was told by the operator that no officers were available to investigate. Apparently the provincial RCMP lack the manpower to do anything.

So far, no one has been hurt or even approached. Whoever is behind this is well informed and knows at least something about trucks and trucking.

Please be alert. Be vigilant. Do not discuss your loads over the CB. Above all, if anyone approaches you trying to take your truck or load (and there is no reason to think they would do this at this point) DON'T BE A HERO. NO LOAD OR TRUCK IS WORTH YOUR LIFE.

I doubt any biker would be dumb enough to wear a patch while stealing a truck.

    Like you said,mostly rumor.

Three more trailers broken into last night at East Coast Truck Wash in Woodstock New Brunswick, cargo stolen. A local company uses the location as a drop yard. I spoke to the staff member at the dealership personally, he swears he saw patches. The loads that are being taken are high dollar food product loads. The trucks that were stolen are being recovered near the theft locations. The trailers that have been stolen have not yet been located.

If I had to guess, if it is indeed Quebec HA behind this, they're doing this to pad their war chest for the current battle against the resurrected RM in Winnipeg.

That story is a couple of days old. I don't want to name the other companies that have been hit, but I know people that work for them. The count is considerably higher than what the story says.
