This was long before Allied gave up GM, this was when Allied lost GM in MSP. You can stand in any railhead in town, and tell within minutes who are the former Allied drivers, without even speaking to them. And it's definitely a case of a few g apples, rather than vice versa. I think they could give lessens to the longshoremen on how to be a thug.

Then don't speak to them, because if that is truly how they act, I won't either!

Guys, Let's all discuss this topic like gentlemen. We can all have differing opinions and still discuss the topic. The reason we are on this section of the forum is because we all have carhauling in our blood.
I have been on both side of the union fence. Terminal locations (drivers) tend to take on the attitude of the Local, Steward(s), etc. Catch my drift? This has been a good discussion, let's keep it going...

September 17, 2013: Jack Cooper Transport has won the bid to purchase Allied Systems, and will now be by far the largest carhaul operator in North America.
Cooper CEO Mike Riggs says the combined carrier will have $1 billion in revenue in 2014. Cooper will pay $135 million – with borrowed money – for Allied, and the deal was approved by the creditors committee overseeing Allied's bankruptcy, with the approval of the Teamsters International Union.
This means the Teamster national carhaul contract will include only two major carriers, with Cassens being the second.

Satisfy my curiosity. What does the sale of Allied Systems have to do with your IBT pension money?

As of this date (5-11-13), doesn't Allied still owe $$ to the Teamsters Pension Fund ?

The more Teamster drivers there are the more secure the pension fund is.
