All the mega carriers usually ######## you just to get you in for crap pay but you gotta start somewhere.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
The only place I see Heartland is in the NE. I suppose they go around to other places, but being from the true heartland myself, I would expect these folks to be all over the place. Nope.

I guess it depends on how many felonies you have; 3 or more, and you'll fit in really well at Western Express!

I agree with Chinatown. You've got no experience and if they will take you, gotta go. The pay isn't the greatest in terms of cpm but you'll get some experience, and you'll run a lot of miles. I ran the flatbed side and it was fine for me to break in. I didn't have any real expectations nor did I take the promises seriously. I learned how to secure pretty much everything because Western Express will put anything on a flatbed. You go to the van side and if you're on the east coast, they'll have you take a lot of loads to the northeast. The flatbed side will keep you out of there for the most part. Sometimes you will run up there, but the van drivers can get caught up on that 95. If you choose them, try to make it a year. Some say get out after 6 or 9 months. I personally think that's silly. After 6 or 9 months, you're just going in circles on the same level of companies. After 1 year, the whole industry opens up to you.

Western Express has those cool parachutes to help them slow down.
