Probably most of them are old truck drivers. They learned to play the game well lol.

My bosses hear this one all the time from their customers (forwarders/brokers, especially Asian and Arab): How can it take 5 hours to go from Denver to Grand Junction, on the map it's only like 6 inches, that's what 180 miles (if you follow the usual miles/inches guide), so 3 hours. Well, no, it's actually 212 miles, and there are 3 mountain ranges in between.

Another one: I no understand why truck not go 75 mph the entire time? What is problem?

There's a couple that have loads in Wyoming. Can't remember the name of the town.. They always go west. And can't figure out why miles are 150 higher then actual.

    Trucks aren't allowed through yellowstone.

Hah i actully got yelled at by a small outfit i worked for years ago for that ####. His truck was governed at 80. But it had a 330 HP detroit in it with 2.93 gearing. His dumb ### loaded me to 80k and sent me up 64 in VA from norfolk heading to cali. I couldnt keep that truck above 10 on most of those hills and even on flat ground it struggled to get upto 65.

He said it should only take 3 and a half days from norfolk VA to L, CA. It took me almost 7 because i was mostly cruiseing at 50 or below just because of the weight with a lot of time below 30 just because it didnt have the power to GO any faster.....i do NOT miss that job....at all.

What gets me is brokers we work with regular that know the lanes we run will have a load picking up close to where we deliver but they don't figure to ask if you want it. Smaller brokerages not the megas. We've got a few of em trained now. One guy even gives us a few days heads up when he's got stuff coming back my way
