Alternative tracking methods from ELD and Apps

    Hey all. Looking for feedback on a tracking solution. I feel like there are too many apps and ELDs share too much information.
    1. How many of you allow tracking of your ELD by 3rd parties (3PL/brokers/MacroPoint/4kites/Project 44/TMS)?

    2. If no to the above, would you allow this in the future?

    3. Would you have any concern with an embedded GPS in the cargo? Assume this does not cost you or require you to do anything different.

    4. If you had a preference, would you prefer a mobile tracking app, ELD tracking or embedded cargo GPS?

    Company drivers don"t have much say in the matter.

    We do catch grief trying to get the drivers on our brokered loads to download tracking apps.. and use them. Nobody likes having someone look over their shoulder.

    Embedded cargo GPS solutions are nice, but they are not cheap and many customers don't want to spend the $.

    Nobody has access to my ELD nor will they . I will accept macropoint and if a app requires location verification they can have it . If all else fails they can call me at a decent hour and I will tell them where their crap is .
