Well, there are times in my life when.... I just don't know what to do.
I have my CDL-A, TWIC, Tanker, doubles, done, and I've passed the hazmat test and submitted my finger prints and medical card.

I do have a late model F250 diesel. If I wanted to put a gooseneck kit on it and pull 16k and under gooseneck on it, in a very limited regional area, Harris county Texas. Where would I go to look for loads, trailers, boats , RV's etc. I don't know what the industry would even call that service.

Any thought as to what kind of legal fee's, permits I'd need?

ideally night work something like 6pm till 6am.

There are 6 sea ports with in two hours of Houston, and one inside the city. not to mention 1000's of warehouses. There must be something, I just don't know what to look for. The names of services, or the jargon if you will.

    Thanks.

Why not go to work for SVTN or CTL for some tanker experience, then start applying for local work as soon as your hired. I used to haul hazmat chemicals to Houston area and many of the tanker drivers I talked to, such as Groendyke and some others, were home often. Might also try some local food service which pays good, such as Cardinal Logistics - their website is driveforcardinal.

Call Ace and those other hot shot companies, but doubt you will find something delivering local during those hours.

Back in 2006, I was working and living in Wichita KS when my 2 sisters called me back home, to the east coast, to help care for our elderly mother. Our mother passed away about a year later, in 2007. My 2 sisters and I spent the next 2 years, (2007-2009), going through our deceased parents house and settling their estate. I returned to Wichita KS in 2009.

In the mean time, I was out of work for 7 months, before finding another job. What I am trying to say is this: You may have to give up truck driving while taking care of your elderly parent. Right now, this is a #1 priority in your life. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters that can help you?

In the mean time, try to find a job in your area in which you can be home every night, whether it is an office job, retail job, or working in a factory. This is NOT the time to be out on the road.

There is a possibility that you could get a driving job delivering milk to customers on a milk run or something of that nature, that is if your area has such a run.

Both SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY, your elderly parent will eventually pass on to the afterlife. Afterwards, you could reconsider going back out on the road. You want to be able to look in the mirror and know that you did the right thing at the time you did it.

The absolute best of luck to both you and your elderly parent, may God be with both of you.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
