I've never encountered altitude sickness in 14 years on the roads, never even on my hunting trips to CO where we were camped at 10,000' and hunted from 11-13000'... no worries. As for companies, RUN from the four you mentioned! I started at USXpress and had a great experience there. Save yourself a lot of headaches and stay away from refrigerated companies. Once I got some experience, I got into tank work, and now have my own business in that sector. Schneider has a fantastic training program from the start, and you can work right into the tank program from there. This can be a GREAT life if you're smart, and work hard. Best of luck to you!

You want the east coast then go with Werner. The 3 yrs I was with them I think I only traveled thru the mountains twice, the rest of the time with them was the north east.Hope New York City and the surrounding areas does'nt bother you.But if motion sickness is a serious issue then you better tell the company before starting with them.Do not tell them the day you get a load going West and do not tell them the day youre with a trainer and get a load going West. You need to tell them long before youre in a trk.I don't think altitude sickness in this profession is all that common.at least I have never heard anybody having altitude sickness. But plenty drivers have other issues, like fear of heights, mountains, bridges, traveling near water.I think Walmart has pills for altitude sickness.Ill check it out then let you know.

If you haven't been diagnosed with altitude sickness I would not worry about it. How many roads will you travel that are above 8,000'? According to what I just read, you'd have to ascend quickly to or above 8,000'.

    THEMEXICANBOY Thanks this.

It dosen't make sense to me to limit you opprtunities over a condition you read about and have no indication you have
