Linings can be destroyed by heat.
Customer would make a blend and it it was one of the mild steel phenolic lined units the heat of adding water to the acid [remember chem class saying acid to water to avoid exothermic reaction] and the sides of the tank were too hot to touch....
You would think the plant would have requested a stainless trailer, but no and they play dumb when they burn out a new lining, again...
Same plant had 4 dedicated trailers for Sulfur Trioxide, double wall plumbing circulating Ethylene glycol [anti freeze] that was heated by the steam pan robbing heat from the load. Demanded they be kept inside the plant. Every fall they would suddenly run short of Anti-Freeze until the got everyone's car radiator filled...
