Alvan Motor Freight to close down, file for bankruptcy

ok ok ok - so to read this press release - and combine it with what I know is kind of confusing...


the president of the company is citing the strike at AA for their downfall (amongst other things)???

sounds like they had "all their eggs" in one proverbial basket...

" a trickle down effect that has stopped much of our production..."

one account put them under?

something does not ring true about that - Alvan had been branching out and touching some of our accounts in the last year (to our dismay). And when they took the outbound WPAFB contract from ABF last october it came out in the wash that they were going to run general freight and not charge for liftgate/inside/door to door on office moves and bulk package.


these are some strange times we are living in here in "freightland"...
