What I want to know is why is making a U-turn such a big deal. If done at the right speed , without twisting the trailer axles too much , and done when there isn't a traffic issue....Done it many times in my career. As far as the tattle-tale goes , some people think that is the way to move -up the ladder.

He did right, but it sounds to me like he works for Schneider. If that is the case then this is not good. When I worked there from 2003-2007 they were very vocal about Uturns being firable offenses. The way they micro-manage and disrespect their drivers was exactly why I left them. I once saw a SNI driver pull a Uturn near my home when I was on home time for them. I waved to him and sure didn't tattle on him. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. What happens on the road stays on the road. Good luck driver.

See, The 'Common sense' Factor just went out the Window..
If these carriers are adament about Firing a Driver For a U-turn, Obviously They have a Line a mile long of drivers just Begging to work for them. (Not hardly)
This is a case of using best judgement, Yet he still gets Fired? Makes No sense
Human Beings make mistakes...This mistake was nothing! It Hurt Nobody and it shouldn't even be an issue or brought up in a thread!!

Most of the mega training companies have strict policies and procedures regarding U Turns.. with my company they are not allowed... unless you are coming to a low clearance or bridge restriction.. however, before you can make tne U turn you have to notify the companh and the police.. and cant do the U turn until the police are there to stop and direct traffic...
My company made and continues to make the No U Turn policy known, they send out remjnders all the time over qualcomm, and there are signs every where at the terminals...
Do yoh know what your company policy is..gentleroger Thanks this. -

There is a generation of drivers who think it is their given task in life to report other drivers and get them fired so they look good. I've seen it on Youtube (NRSadventures) that will call companies reporting on stupid little stuff because of their self righteous goody two shoes opinion. Why would you want to screw up the life of someone else and their families if no one is hurt and no property is damaged.? Beyond me. And please don't reply with text book driving school U turn accident prevention info.
*NRsadventures is no longer on youtube, Swift fired them, toooooo funny.stayinback, DoneYourWay, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -
First of all that driver S&^$ for saying anything. Second of all the right thing to do in that case is to call the local PD and have them help you turn around. This is what all companies want due to run under crashes. Most new guys can not get out of the way fast enough this is why companies stop the U turn in their trucks.

No,No,No.......
I see your in illinois too,
Calling the Police over this is Childish and stupid..IF,and IF they have a car in the area, it MIGHT get dispatched to assist,
And, I Bet the Cop would Question and Harrass the Driver like a misbehaving young Child.Derailed, Toomanybikes, Shaggy and 3 others Thank this.
