My guess you mostly likely have anxiety about starting a new career into the great unknown. You will be fine when you get that first load under your belt.

It is definitely hard to leave home ... when I did it I was a little girl about it. Lol
I rode away on a bus watching my wife and 7 yr old son cry as I pulled away. Its hard and you have to realize at some point that you are doing it for a good reason other wise you wouldn't be doing it.....
Hell some nights I get a phone call from a crying kid because his daddy isn't home. ( thats about as hard as it gets ) but I explain to him that daddy has to make a living for him to have all of his toys and his beloved play station. ( lol )
Once he told me he dont want any more toys . Well that will make ya feel about 2ft tall , but he does understand a bit more now that its been a few months.
I would take the dog and leave the girlfriend. Hahahaha no j/k
Moral of all that nonsense is make sure you know what you want to do for a living .
This is not a dream life or some fantasy....rank Thanks this. -

Every change in lifestyle comes with its own set of pain. Either we find a way to adjust to it, or we don't. It seriously sucks sometimes to be away from home, but if you really want to do this, you will find a way to cope. My wife and I have it pretty well worked out over the last few years. God bless cell phones and headsets. She works a normal "day job," and I usually run vampire, so many nights, we will talk for three or four hours before she goes to bed; it really helps. Also, when I get a really good wifi or 4g signal, we will Skype. It is all about being in touch. I always bring her little gifts or surprises from my various travels. As far as your pooch, put in your time then find a company that allows pets; that can help a lot. Many times, if I'm not going to be out too long, I will bring my cat along with me, and he loves it. (that's him in my avatar.). It really lifts my spirit somedays.
All in all you have to decide what your values are and what you want out of this career. -

no one truly knows what to expect entering the industry
preconceived notions doom many to failure
now I have worked away from home most all my life in every industry
I have ever been in
Only being home would cause a divorce -
